At the 2017 4th World Age Group UWH Championships to be held in Hobart Tasmania, the organisers are going to provide a professional, clear, high-quality live stream of all the games at the tournament.
For the first time ever we will have a dedicated international expert commentary team, with two commentators in every court. We will have daily highlights packages and end of day wrap up and panel discussion show - 'Glory Days'. We will have action replays, interviews with players, coaches, the organisers and our generous sponsors. For the first time ever you will see a fully professional all-inclusive broadcast package!
We have decided to do this free of charge, you are not required to pay to watch any of these games or enjoy this service. However it costs a lot to provide this stream, Underwater Hockey Australia has organised the stream and it is costing in excess of $40,000 AUD to put together, along with hundreds of hours from volunteers to not only deliver the final product but also in designing, organising and sourcing all the equipment, setup and everything else involved.
Running a cost neutral event means that this cost is being passed onto the teams, players and the association and has been budgeted somewhere. We have secured some funding and support but at present, we have a $10,000 AUD amount which we have set aside to be raised by donations of people who plan to enjoy, are enjoying or have enjoyed our streaming service.
Anyone who makes a donation will automatically enter a draw to win prizes donated by our sponsors, including fins, UWH equipment, clothing and other such goodies. The person who makes the largest donation will automatically win a pair of fins provided by one of our sponsors!
To help support the teams if you have been watching the footage, make a donation and show your full support to the teams.
All funds go straight into reducing costs for the players and associations and help with the junior development of our sport. If we do somehow manage to raise more than our goal, then all funds will be donated back into the junior development of UWH.
