Puppy Leon's Surgery Fund

Hi everyone! This morning a man brought a puppy into the vet clinic where my husband works as a tech. The puppy was hit by a car earlier this morning and has broken his femoral head (the part that attaches the head of the thigh bone to the rest of the thigh bone). The man could not afford surgery (or even the x-rays) so he asked to put the puppy to sleep. My husband tried every possible way to help him, but the only thing he would do was sign the puppy over to us. So we are now fostering a sweet 3 month old pup in need of a big surgery. Luckily, the vet (Dr. Miller at Durham Animal Hospital) has offered to perform the surgery to save his leg for 50% of what it would normally be and since that is where my husband works, he can stay with Leon the whole time!! So we need about $1500 to pay for the surgery and other medical expenses (such as physical therapy, pain medication, anti-inflammatories and antibiotics - and any other treatments or secondary surgeries) as soon as possible and a rescue to help us find the perfect home for him once he is all healed. We are happy to foster a sweet baby, but need some community support to get his leg properly fixed. 
We have named him Leonidas (from the movie "300" but we are calling him Leon for short) because he is such a little warrior. We can't even imagine how much pain he was in, but he has stayed sweet and calm and loving since we met him. He is currently getting pain medication and lots of snuggles.
