Barnesraising: The Amy Barnes Fund

If there's anything we all know about Amy Barnes, it's that she's a giver, a care taker, a role model and a supporter. There are countless people outside of our family who have been touched by Amy's generous spirit, whether it was in her role as a devoted nanny, true friend, or the girl you could always count on to be in the front row, singing along at your shows. 

Now Amy needs our help. Diagnosed with advanced breast cancer, Amy underwent a double mastectomy on November 18.  After some healing time, she will begin an aggressive course of chemo and radiation. 

As a nanny, Amy has non-traditional employment benefits, and while she has some health insurance coverage, it's insufficient to cover her treatment. After the long emotional and physical battle Amy confronts,  the support of her community can help to ease the financial devastation she will be left with once she beats this.

We've set our fundraising goal at $30,000; the  *minimum* Amy will need for her medical expenses. As her little brother, I know the incredible friends and light Amy has surrounding her. My family and I are so grateful for your support of ALL kinds during this time, whether you can contribute to this fund financially, or just sending some cheer her way if you can't.
