<div>We are heartbroken to share that our friend Gabriel Calvo Espinoza passed away on Friday, June 13th.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Gabriel lived and worked in this community for years. Many knew him personally, and even more knew of him — a quiet, familiar face who moved at his own pace and still managed to lift the room just by being there. He was a kind soul, never in a rush, never in a hurry — but always present. Just his presence made a long day feel a little easier, a little more human.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He spent his final years working in kitchens across the city, forming quiet bonds with those around him and leaving behind a warmth we’ll never forget. One of our most vivid memories is Gabriel sitting peacefully with a pint of beer after work, sharing a moment of calm in a busy world.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And though he wasn’t one for telling jokes, this one always reminds us of him — not because he said it, but because it just feels like him:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>“Why did the beer go to the bathroom? Because it was feeling a little drafty.”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are raising funds to help send Gabriel back home to Mexico, so his family can lay him to rest and say goodbye surrounded by love.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>All donations will go directly toward:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Transportation and repatriation of Gabriel’s remains
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Funeral and burial costs in his home town
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Support for his family during this time of loss
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are so grateful for any support you can offer — whether it’s a donation, a share, or a kind word. Thank you for helping us honor Gabriel and ensure he makes it home.
</div>
