Hospice or Nursing Home Care

My mother is Jane Lucas and she was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, last August. She has undergone brain surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. She recently suffered the tragic loss of her granddaughter and her tumor has returned and grown. She is no longer able to reside at her home or manage to take care of herself due to some restrictions and side affects of the cancer.  Although she has had a paralyzed leg since her surgery, she was able to take small steps with a walker but is now unable to or to get herself up from bed. She is swollen and now has a catheter. Her time on this earth is limited and we just want her time spent in comfort and without worry. She is currently at a hospice facility  but her insurance only covers 5 days, and then it becomes a self-pay situation. The cost is $200 daily and I have applied her for Medicaid but until then self pay is our only option.

The situation has led to many unforeseen costs that we are trying to help with, but this has led to leaving her with $50 from her monthly income. Her hope and wish is to stay at the hospice facility where we know she will be in care and comfort, as living at home is not an option now. My mother has lived her life to serve God, she has cared for her late husband, mother and aunt while they were ill and devoted countless hours to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Any monetary help is welcomed and appreciated, as well as kind words and prayers for peace.  Our goal is to get to $6,500 as it is approximately $6,000 for one month and the extra money would be used for other medical supplies and expense.
