Funeral Cost

Words can not describe how hard it has been to lose our mama. She was our constant, our compass. She was always there for advice, even when it may not have been what you wanted to hear, but what you needed to hear.

She had a major impact on all of our lives. She would have taken the shirt off of her back to give it to someone in need. She had an open-door policy, and if you needed a place to stay, whether short or long-term, she welcomed you with open arms.

She deserves the best and we want to give it to her. We received a significant discount because she was an employee for so many years and retired from the funeral home. Unfortunately, she did not have life insurance, so we are having to come out of pocket for the cost.

When mom considered retiring because she was so sick and it was getting too hard on her to keep working, she sat down with us to consider options. She knew that she would have to give up her life insurance when she left Cook Walden and that when it was her time, she worried about her kids. She was willing to keep working to keep it if that's what we wanted. That is the type of person she was.

Mom was a proud person, and would probably hate us asking, but we need help. So many people have asked if we need anything. We have said we are okay, we are good, we will be fine.

Now we are asking for help. Please do what you can. We will be using the money to cover the funeral cost. If we receive more than our goal, we will be using that towards moving and cleaning cost for her belongings. Anything after that will help us support our grandmother. who mom was taking care of until the very end.

Viewing services for Debbie Hunter Weir will be held at Cook-Walden Capital Parks in Pflugerville Friday Evening, March 10th, from 6pm-8pm.

Funeral services will be held at the same location the following day, Saturday March 11th, at 2:00 pm.
