The Williams family is in great need...
Three days before Christmas, the Williams Family was struck with devastating news, Latanya, wife and mother of two, suffered a stroke. While still in the hospital, three weeks later, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Uterine cancer. As the sole provider for the family, she has also tirelessly worked as a caregiver for the family including her husband, Joe, her son, Jacob (a cancer survivor) and her son Isaac who is away at school.
Joe is currently a diabetic, suffering from high blood pressure and congestive heart failure, which is why he needs a combination pacemaker and defibrillator in his chest. Additionally, Joe manages Sleep Apnea and is in need of eye surgery for the Cataracts on his eyes.
They have an immediate need for funding to pay for bills and transportation to and from the hospital.
In additional detail:
The Williams family’s living expenses total to about $4,000 per month - this does not include the daily trips to and from the hospital and latonya’s medical care that is not covered by insurance.
These expenses will go down once she is able to move to a nursing home and can get access to Medicaid coverage and/or Mercy Care. Joe is also waiting for approval to get access to disability benefits.
