Meet small business owner of Althea's Head-To-Toe.  Let's rally around small business owner during these uncertain times.  Please consider supporting the salon and make a donation or purchase a gift card yourself, a family members or friends.

I am Althea Drew of Althea’s Head-To-Toe Unisex Salon. As a hair stylist my goal is to build confidence in my clients by showing them beauty from within as also style them, so they are confident, secure, brave and beautiful!  Beauty is from the inside out...

I provide many services one of which is to provide specialized services to clients with hair loss due to medical illness, alopecia and hormonal issues which can lead to premature balding. This has always been a passion of mine.

I have given back to my community in many ways possible. I am an advocate for Women’s programs and have worked with and supported the Look Good Feel Better Cancer Foundation by showing the women how to apply makeup, which made them feel more confident while going through hair loss caused by treatments. I did fundraising within the salon and participated  in the annual Walk For Cancer with one of my survivors, for the past five years.

I have also coordinated with the Dimock Community Center to provide support to women in recovery. The program supported women in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction who were trying to get back into the workforce.

I am also a believer in living a healthier life; in order to do so we must find time for ourselves and exercise is a big part of that. For the benefit of the women I serve, in the past I had arranged for a professional trainer and nutritionist to work with the salon clients and staff to encourage us as a group to start living a healthier lifestyle. I continue to share information on health and also encourage all of my clients to live their best life.

The current COVID-19 pandemic has deeply impacted my business. As a self-employed business owner, if I don't work, my business suffers, and the trickle down effect of closing my doors leaves me unable to financially manage day-to-day. My concern is to be able to keep my salon doors open while I rebrand; the rebrand will provide more services to those in great need. Women who suffer from significant hair loss.

I am scheduled to for a professional course on hair replacement in May at McBride Hair Restoration. This class will bring my skills to the next level and allow me to provide professional hair restoration to men women and children in need. The estimated cost for lost wages rents utilities due to the COVID-19 SALON closing, the remodel and rebrand and cost of the course is $20,000+

I am fundraising to support not just women but all who suffer from hair loss.  This is an important initiative that needs your support.  Please consider donating to the cause!

May you be safe in this time of uncertainty.  Check on your loved ones, family friends and neighbors. It takes a village to move the mountain!

With sincere gratitude.
