Hurricane Harvey

We are reaching out to help an Edison High School class of 1971 alumni - Karen Smith.  Some of us also went to elementary, junior high and high school with Karen.   Karen's home has had major flood damage due to Hurricane Harvey.  Unfortunately, Karen was without flood insurance (having lived in the house for 17 years - it never flooded) and was cancelled years ago.

She also has her elderly parents living with her (recently transported for San Antonio).    She moved their things to her garage (yes that is the garage under water).  They are 83/84 years old and very confused right now as to where they will live.  After a week in a hotel (an added expense) because the roads were closed - they are currently staying with Karen's brother in the area.

To top it off - Karen recently had shoulder surgery and her father had a fall hitting his head causing blood buildup and confusion (this doesn't help the situation).

Let's step up and help wherever we can.   She has not been allowed back in her home but was able to get a police boat escort to see the damage -  as you can see the damage is extensive.

Please pass this along and lets help her! Anything you have (time, money, manpower, money, construction work, money....)  

All the funds will be used for expenses, clean up and repairing damage.
