Help end dad's 18year cancer battle

Chad Schauers, the father of four wonderful children, was diagnosed with small cell follicular non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 1997 only 10 months after getting married. After 18 years of 9 failed attempts at curing the disease, and close to $200,000 out of his pocket to manage the disease: his stage IV cancer is still active and slowly growing. The countless treatments, tests, complications, side effects, related diseases, etc., that Chad has endured quietly through all these years weigh on his body, and have taken a toll on his entire family.

As one last approach: he will undergo a stem cell transplant. This transplant could mean a cure for Chad, a life cancer free for him, his family and for the rest of our community to enjoy him healthy from now on!

I first met Chad when he was coaching my son's soccer team. Yes, as he was battling cancer, he was voluntarily, and with dedication and enthusiasm, encouraging 8 year olds to play and smile as hard as they could! That is why I feel compelled to help.

The transplant will take place at the Huntsman Cancer center in SLC and Chad and his family need to move there in May. Any money raised would offset the relocation expense, expenses not covered by insurance, specialized medical equipment needed and home health care along with helping to keep up with mortgage payments on their home in Bozeman while living in SLC. As things look now, they would run out of funds by July so anything we could send their way by then would sure take a lot of worries off their plate.


This positive, always smiling, hardworking man who is a wonderful husband and father, and member of our community, really an example of integrity, strength and joy, needs a little bit of help getting his family over this hump (forever, with a little bit of tailwind!!), and I KNOW we can give it to him!!
