Elyzabeth's Cancer Fight
Donation protected
My dear friend Elyzabeth was diagnosed with stage 2 oestrogen and HER2 breast cancer in August 2017. She underwent chemotherapy from September 2017-January 2018. Unfortunately her tumour didn't shrink enough and a double mastectomy was required. Elyzabeth flew home to the USA in February and underwent a gruelling 10 hour surgery. While there she discovered her insurance only covered part of the cost. The total cost of surgery was $150,000, however her insurance would only cover $117,000, leaving a shortfall of $33,000. This doesn't include loss of earnings and the cost of follow up appointments when she returns to the United Arab Emirates where she lives. Elyzabeth teaches grade 1 elementary and is passionate about her job. Her positive attitude and zest for life are infectious to those around her. Throughout this whole process her smile hasn't wavered. She truly is an inspiration who is loved by her friends and community here in our little desert town. If we can help ease the burden and worry she faces, then why shouldn't we try?! All donations will be very much appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read her story. X
