Struggling Family Needs Help

Felix is 6 months old and has just seen a developmental specialist for evaluation. Prior to a multitude of serious tests, his preliminary diagnosis included Hypotonia. This is a serious diagnosis because it requires extensive physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy (for feeding issues at his age). Not to mention all the other specialists he is required to see over the next few months, and many more tests to find out what is going on with him. 

What this means for us as a family, is I (mom) will not be able to return to work because appointments and therapy will take up most of our weeks. Jarrod (dad) is working full time, and overtime when possible. Currently we are barely hanging by a thread when it comes to keeping lights on and a roof over our heads. Now with this added expense of driving to Des Moines at least a couple times per week, we will not have enough to make ends meet. 

We we have applied for housing assistance, and are currently on a waiting list. It will help us immensely, but we could have up to another 6 months on that waiting list. 

So so we’re setting up this GoFundMe for help with living expenses. For rent on our home, utilities, phones, and gasoline to get to and from appointments. Nothing more.
