<div>Jag står mitt i livet – är en 42-årig lärare och mamma till tre underbara barn som är 11, 8 och 8 år. Det är en väldigt allvarlig diagnos jag har fått, men jag vägrar ge upp!

<div>Jag har genomgått en operation och får behandling med cellgifter, strålning och Optune, vilket innebär att jag ska ha elektroder fästa på huvudet dag och natt.

<div>Behandlingsalternativen när det gäller glioblastom av den typ jag har, är än så länge begränsade i Sverige. Jag har därför valt att ingå i forskningsstudier för att förbättra både mina och andras chanser. Forskningen om hjärntumörer gör ständiga framsteg och mycket kan förändras inom bara några år. Men tiden för mig är knapp.

<div>För att vinna mer tid finns en möjlighet – en behandling som just nu bara erbjuds i Tyskland. Behandlingen bygger på ett personligt vaccin som skapas utifrån mina egna gener. Det har visat sig kunna bromsa tumörtillväxten och ge patienter både längre livslängd och bättre livskvalitet.

<div>Min onkolog på universitetssjukhuset i Linköping och vården i stort, är positivt inställd men kan inte erbjuda behandlingen här eftersom den ännu inte prövats i Sverige. Jag har inte tid att vänta på att det här ska bli en del av behandlingsprotokollet för oss med glioblastom, och därför måste jag bekosta behandlingen själv.

<div>Jag och min familj har dock inte de ekonomiska resurser som krävs för att täcka hela kostnaden (80 000 euro + kostnader för resor till Tyskland).

<div>I framtiden kommer den här behandlingen med största sannolikhet erbjudas för glioblastom i Sverige (den är det redan för andra former av cancer). Men tyvärr har jag inte tid att vänta.

<div>My name is Josefine and I have been diagnosed with the most aggressive form of brain tumor, glioblastoma, grade 4. This was really not how it was supposed to be.

<div>I am in the middle of life – I am a 42-year-old teacher and mother of three wonderful children who are 11, 8 and 8 years old. It is a very serious diagnosis that I have been given, but I refuse to give up!
</div>

<div>I have had surgery and am receiving chemotherapy, radiation and Optune, which means I will have electrodes attached to my head day and night.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Treatment options for the type of glioblastoma I have are currently limited in Sweden. I have therefore chosen to participate in research studies to improve both my chances and those of others. Research into brain tumors is constantly advancing and a lot can change in just a few years. But time is short for me.
</div>

<div>To buy more time, there is an option – a treatment that is currently only offered in Germany. The treatment is based on a personalized vaccine created from my own genes. It has been shown to slow tumor growth and give patients both a longer lifespan and a better quality of life.
</div>

</div>
<div>My oncologist at Linköping University Hospital and the healthcare system in general are positive but cannot offer the treatment here as it has not yet been tested in Sweden. I do not have time to wait for this to become part of the treatment protocol for us with glioblastoma, and therefore I have to pay for the treatment myself.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>However, my family and I do not have the financial resources required to cover the full cost (80,000 euros + travel costs to Germany).
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In the future, this treatment will most likely be offered for glioblastoma in Sweden. (It already is for other forms of cancer) But unfortunately I don't have time to wait.
</div>

</div>
<div>For this reason, I am now asking for your help. Please share this collection, spread it as much as you can and contribute if you can. Every penny we can raise is valuable. I need this opportunity to be here for my children and my family longer than what currently seems likely.
