Tilly's treatment

From the start, Tills has been an 'against all odds' dog. Technically, she shouldn't have been adopted to my Mum due to the RSPCA rules on aggressive behaviours (she must guard the food / ball at all costs!) but she was such a sweetheart the manager made allowances. When my family moved overseas in 2012, I took Till Bill on full time and we have been inseparable since.... we even slept in my car for a bit when I couldn't find a home that accepted her! 

More than just my fur-baby, Tilly very really saved my life during a suic*de attempt in 2014. Now it's my turn to return the favor. 

Shortly after we made the move from Australia to NZ in May of this year (just after Tills turned 11); overjoyed at the prospect of more dog friendly walks, no snakes or ticks, and finding out forever farm somewhere in outer Auckland - Tilly began having trouble going to the toilet and quickly become less active.  After may vet trips (that she handled like an absolute champ! She loved the 'treat lady',) countless tests and thousands of dollars, we have found a cancerous mass at the beginning of her urethra.  I have been advised chemo is the best (and only) treatment, and am currently awaiting more news from a specialist who is looking at samples today. 

Tilly deserves to have every resource and treatment thrown at her and it breaks my heart that I am unable to fund it alone. It is with the most humble heart that I ask for support and donations from my wonderful friends & family. I pledge that any funds not needed directly for Tilly's treatment will go to HUHANZ - NZ's biggest no kill shelter & rescue. 

Lastly, please get pet insurance if you have fur-babies! I *incredibly stupidly* was 'waiting until they were a bit older and really needed it* and it's been the biggest mistake of my life.
