<div>It has been 50 years since the end of the Vietnam War, when the entire territory of Vietnam fell under the control of the Communists after deals struck by the world’s superpowers. The resentment, pain, and loss endured by the Vietnamese people, especially the Armed Forces, Civilians, and Officials of the Republic of Vietnam, have never been fairly recorded. The Communists have spared no dishonest tactic to distort history and conceal their crimes. At the same time, in the Free World, there is no shortage of individuals who have smeared the government and people of South Vietnam to justify the betrayal by their allies.

<div>Fifty years have passed, and most of those who shed their blood to defend freedom, many of whom were imprisoned by their own people in so-called re-education camps, are no longer with us. Many of the freedom-loving Vietnamese who could not accept Communist rule and fled into exile have also passed away. Recording the historical events of this painful period, through the voices of living witnesses, has become more urgent than ever. Future generations must understand the tragic betrayal of soldiers, the broken families, and the plight of those who lost their country.

<div>Honoring the painful lessons of the past to rebuild the homeland is the responsibility of many generations. However, recording this historical period accurately is our generation’s duty. Valuable works on this subject don’t come about without significant efforts; they require the broad support of the community. Therefore, in addition to seeking funding from governments in countries with large Vietnamese refugee populations, Thanh Tâm sincerely calls for your financial support to help realize the film FROM THE ASHES OF WAR in this 50th year since the entirety of Vietnam fell into Communist hands. The film will be screened on the National Day of the Republic of Vietnam in late 2025.

Những uất ức, đau thương, và mất mát của người dân Việt Nam, đặc biệt là Quân Dân Cán Chính Việt Nam Cộng Hòa chưa bao giờ được ghi lại một cách công bằng. Người Cộng Sản thì không từ biện pháp không lương thiện để xuyên tạc lịch sử, che dấu tội ác của mình. Trong khi đó thì thế giới Tự Do cùng không thiếu những kẻ bôi nhọ chính thể và người dân miền Nam để biện hộ cho sự phản bội đồng minh của họ.

<div>50 năm, hầu hết những người thuộc thế hệ đổ xương máu của mình trong cuộc chiến bảo vệ tự do, nhiều người bị chính đồng bào mình đày ải trong những nhà tù mang tên trại cải tạo, nay đã không còn. Và phần lớn những người dân Việt yêu chuộng tự do không chấp nhận sự thống trị Cộng Sản tìm đường lưu vong cũng đã qua đời. Việc ghi lại những sự kiện lịch sử của dân tộc trong giai đoạn đau thương này từ những nhân chứng sống đã trở nên cấp thiết hơn bao giờ hết. Thế hệ mai sau cần phải thấu hiểu đoạn trường của những quân nhân bị phản bội, những gia đình ly tán, những người dân mất nước khốn cùng.
