Hiram J Coker Jr Fighting Aggressive Cancer
Donation protected
As many of you know Hiram was diagnosed with CLL in 2002. He went many years with only an occasional treatment. In 2016 he started chemotherapy with a combination of three chemo drugs. In early 2021 he was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). The only hope was a stem cell transplant. On September 8th, 2021 he had a stem cell transplant with a 100% sibling donor. In February this year he was told his transplant was failing and his transplant team then referred him to MD Anderson for a second opinion. He is in Houston for an extended stay. Hiram will enter an experimental immunotherapy trial along with chemotherapy. This trial targets the very aggressive mutation giving him hope for the future.
Thank you all for your love and prayers!
