Nepal - Nima Sherpa - Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe

Nepal - Nima Sherpa - Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe

(English below) Unser Freund Nima ist Guide in der Everest-Region in Nepal.

Vielen Dank!!!

Our friend Nima is a mountain guide in the Everest region. Last year we spent four weeks on a trip with him, and we got to know him as a very friendly, highly empathic, a simply very content and happy person. Since then, we kept close contact, and he became a close friend of ours. By now, our friend is - already the second time - in a highly difficult and challenging situation. Through no fault of his own:

In 2015´s earthquake, he and his family lost their home, and Nima was unable to earn any money as a mountain guide for more than 2 years.

This year, due to Covid, he will also be unable to earn a cent, as no tourists are allowed to travel to the Everest area. Next season will start in March 2020, and it is highly unlikely that tourists will be allowed to travel to the Everest area then. Nima and his familiy cannot expect any help of the state, they have to make it completely on their own.

To be more independent from guiding tourists in future, Nima and his wife Kanchim plan to set up a small local restaurant in Kathmandu near the Stupa in Boudhhnath. They plan to offer some drinks, noodle and rice dishes. Such restaurants are visited by tourists, but also by a lot of buddhist pilgrims.

In Nepal, setting up a restaurant like this, will cost round about 6,000 € in the first year, for starting it up, rent and taxes. After one year, they plan to gain enough money with the restaurant that they can go on on on their own. As Nima wasn´t able to gain any money this year, he is unable to raise this amount on his own. That´s why we ask you for your help: Please help Nima and his family to earn their living with this little restaurant. Without your help, it will even be hard for Nima´s two daughters to keep on going to school.

Nima and Kanchim are highly motivated to take their reins- but without our support, they do not have any chance! We ask you to help us to support Nima and his family, so that their dream can come true.

Maybe one day you will travel  to Nepal. Maybe you will have lunch in a small local restaurant in Kathmandu, and maybe this is the restaurant which was set with YOUR help.

Even a smaller amount would be of great help and really be appreciated!
Please share this note with everyone you know. United we stand strong! Thanks a lot!
