<div>Hallo, mein Name ist Kathrin und ich bin Teil einer großartigen Gruppe von Menschen aus Madagaskar und Deutschland. Seit 2010 kommen Schüler*innen aus der Region Toamasina im Osten Madagaskars und Altenberg im Osterzgebirge zusammen. Gemeinsam organisieren wir Umweltschutz- und Bildungsprojekte. In Form von Schüleraustauschen treffen wir uns regelmäßig auch persönlich, um voneinander zu lernen, über globale Probleme zu diskutieren und neue Aktionen zu planen.

<div>Die Zerstörung, die der Zyklon "Gezani" am 10.02.2026 an der madagassischen Ostküste angerichtet hat, zeigt uns erneut, dass die Menschen, die am wenigsten zum Klimawandel beigetragen haben, am stärksten von seinen Folgen betroffen sind.

<div>Einige der älteren Schüler*innen der madagassischen Partnerschule leben in Tamatave/Toamasina und wurden vom Zyklon hart getroffen. Ein Großteil der Stadt ist stark verwüstet und auch die Häuser unserer Freunde sind teilweise massiv beschädigt oder zerstört. Hinzu kommen weitere Probleme wie fehlender Strom, Lebensmittelknappheit und steigende Nahrungsmittelpreise. Nun versuchen wir von Deutschland aus wenigstens ein bisschen helfen zu können. Wir freuen uns über jede*n, der/die uns dabei mit unterstützt. Das Geld geht direkt an die Freunde vor Ort in Tamatave für den Wiederaufbau.
