Help for Typhoon Odette ( Rai) Victims

Typhoon Odette was the strongest Typhoon to hit the Philippines this year.

The islands of Siargao, Bohol and Palawan are among the worst hit.

 

Central Palawan hasn't been hit by a Typhoon that strong for at least 30 years.

 

One of the Tourist town there is Port Barton, which was hit very hard.

 

The local people in there usually live of tourism and the pandemic made life very difficult for them already and now that the typhoon destroyed or at least damaged so many houses, they don't have money for foods or repairs.

My name is Benny Martinez and I live in Palawan since 2012 and we have a house and a restaurant in Port Barton, which was almost totally destroyed. As soon as the roads are cleared I will bring some building materials there.
 
In that context I had the idea to try and collect some donations and buy as many sacks of rice as possible, canned foods and basic building materials like Roofing sheets and nails, to help the people, who cannot afford to just fix their places again like me.
If enough money was collected I would also get water filters and solar chargers for mobile phones, as there will not be electricity for the next 2 month.
 
I would be very happy for even the smallest donation and promise to do my best to use it to help the poorest of the typhoon victims.
 
6$ is the price of a roofing sheet and even one would be a big help already.
55$ would almost buy the sheets for a small hut.
A 50kg sack of rice costs 45$ and would last a family for a month.
 
I would buy and distribute the relief goods myself and will not just hand over the donation to another organisation.
 
I will send a full list of how the money was spend, together with pictures to anyone interested.

Taifun Odette war der stärkste Taifun der die Philippinen dieses Jahr getroffen hat.

Die Inseln Siargao, Bohol und Palawan sind mit am schlimmsten betroffen.

 

In Zentral Palawan hat es seit mindestens 30 Jahren keinen so starken Sturm gegeben.

 

Einer der beliebten Urlaubsorte dort ist Port Barton, der von dem Taifun besondern hart getroffen wurde.

Der Ort lebt fast vollständig vom Tourismus und hat schon seit fast 2 Jahren kaum Einkommen und der Sturm hat nun obendrein ihre Häuser zerstört oder zumindest stark beschädigt.

Nun haben viele Menschen dort keine Mittel, um ihre Häuser zu reparieren, da das Geld nicht einmal für Lebensmittel reicht.

 

Ich heisse Benny Martinez und lebe seit 2012 auf Palawan und habe dort ein Haus und Restaurant in Port Barton, welches fast vollständig zerstört wurde.

Zur Zeit bin ich in Puerto Princesa, aber sobald die Strassen wieder frei sind werde ich dort Baumaterialien hinfahren.

 

In diesem Zusammenhang bin ich auf die Idee gekommen, ich könnte Spenden sammeln und so viele Säcke Reis wie möglich, Konserven und grundlegende Baumaterialien wie Wellblech und Nägel kaufen, um den Leuten zu helfen, die in Not sind.

Falls genug zusammenkommt, wären auch Wasserfilter und Solar Aufladegeräte für Handys wichtig, da es voraussichtlich die nächsten 2 Monaten keinen Strom geben wird.

 

Ich würde mich über jede noch so kleine Spende super freuen und verspreche mein Bestes zu geben, diese so gut wie möglich einzusetzen, um den ärmsten der Taifun Opfer zu helfen.

 

5€ kostet in etwa ein Wellblech und damit würde man auf jeden Fall schon etwas Gutes getan haben. Und mit 10 Wellblechen für 50€ kann schon fast eine kleine Hütte neu decken.

Ein 50kg Sack Reis kostet 35-40€ und würde einer Familie für einen Monat reichen.

 

Ich werde die Hilfsgüter persönlich kaufen und verteilen und nicht die Spenden einfach an eine Organisation weitergeben.
