<div>Schön, dass du den Weg auf diese Seite gefunden hast. Mein Name ist Denise, ich bin 32 Jahre alt und komme aus Österreich. Ende letzten Jahres und dieses Jahr durfte ich in Summe fast <strong>fünf Monate in Tansania</strong> verbringen, davon<strong> knapp vier Monate in einem Maasai-Dorf</strong> im Landesinneren.

<div>Ursprünglich bin ich im Jänner 2024 wegen der Tiere nach Tansania gereist, doch <strong>zurückgekommen bin ich wegen der Menschen. </strong>❤ Die Familie, bei der ich wohnen durfte, hat mich aufgenommen, als wäre ich ein Teil von ihr. Ihre <strong>Herzlichkeit, Großzügigkeit und Offenheit</strong> haben mich tief berührt, weshalb ein Teil meines Herzens in diesem Dorf geblieben ist. Deshalb ist es mir ein <strong>Herzensanliegen</strong>, dieser Familie und der gesamten Dorfgemeinschaft etwas zurückzugeben. ❤

<div><strong>Ein großes Problem: nur eingeschränkter Zugang zu sauberem Wasser</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Viele Familien in Tansania haben<strong> keinen oder nur sehr eingeschränkten Zugang zu sauberem Trinkwasser.</strong> So verhält es sich auch für die Gemeinschaft in dem Dorf im Bezirk Kiteto, das sehr ländlich geprägt ist und sich im Nordosten Tansanias befindet. Es gibt dort nur wenige, meist sehr verschmutzte natürliche Wasserquellen (auch Tiere trinken daraus &amp; baden sich darin). Die Frauen und Kinder – vor allem Mädchen – müssen mehrmals pro Woche kilometerweit gehen, um Wasser aus diesen unsicheren Quellen zu holen.

<div><strong>Das bedeutet:</strong>

<div>•<strong> ‍Stundenlange Wege </strong>(eine Strecke ca. 1,5h) statt Schulbesuch oder Arbeit

</div>
<div>• <strong>Eine schwere Last</strong> für die ganze Dorfgemeinschaft

<div><strong>Die Lösung: ein Brunnen für sauberes Trinkwasser</strong>

<div>Mein Ziel ist es, mit deiner Unterstützung <strong>einen nachhaltigen Brunnen zu bauen</strong>, damit die Menschen im Dorf einen sicheren und direkten Zugang zu sauberem Trinkwasser haben.

<div><strong>Wie wird das Geld genutzt, wofür wird es benötigt?</strong>

<div>• Messung der Grundwassertiefe (liegt bei ca. 180 Metern)

<div>• Planung und Material für den Brunnenbau

<div>• Bohrarbeiten und Installation einer solarbetriebenen Wasserpumpe
</div>
<div>• Bau/Installation eines Wassertanks für das Brunnenwasser (25.000 Liter)

<div>• Mögliche Errichtung eines Retentionsbeckens zur besseren Niederschlagsversickerung und Grundwassersicherung

<div>• Schulung der Dorfgemeinschaft für langfristige Wartung

<div>Falls die angestrebte (doch sehr hohe) Spendensumme nicht erreicht wird, gibt es eine <strong>alternative Lösung: den Bau weiterer Regenwasserzisternen</strong> (zwei Zisternen konnten im Mai 2025 bereits errichtet werden – siehe dazu das Update). Doch da in dieser Region nicht das ganze Jahr über Regen fällt, sondern nur während der beiden Regenzeiten, und der Klimawandel und seine Auswirkungen auch vor Afrika nicht Halt machen, wäre ein <strong>Brunnen die nachhaltigere und langfristig bessere Lösung.</strong>

At the end of last year and this year, I had the incredible opportunity to spend almost<strong> five months in Tanzania</strong>, nearly <strong>four of which I lived in a Maasai village</strong> in the heart of the mainland.

<div>I originally traveled to Tanzania in January 2024 for the wildlife, but<strong> I returned for the people. ❤</strong> The family I stayed with welcomed me as if I had always been one of them. Their<strong> warmth, generosity, and openness </strong>touched me deeply, and a piece of my heart has stayed in that village. That’s why it is <strong>very important to me to give something back</strong> to this family and the entire community. ❤

<div><strong>A major problem: Limited access to clean water</strong>
</div>

</div>
<div>Many families in Tanzania have <strong>little to no access to clean water</strong>. This is also the case for the village in Kiteto District, a very rural area in northeastern Tanzania. There are only a few natural water sources, and most of them are highly contaminated (animals drink from them, bathe in them, and pollute them further). Women and children, especially girls, must walk for hours several times a week to fetch water from these unsafe sources.

<div><strong>This means:</strong>

<div>• <strong>Hours-long walks (about 1.5 hours one way)</strong> instead of attending school or working
</div>
<div>• <strong>Serious health risks </strong>due to contaminated water
</div>

<div><strong>The solution: A well for clean water</strong>

<div>If the full (and ambitious) fundraising goal cannot be reached, an <strong>alternative solution</strong> would be to<strong> build more rainwater storage tanks </strong>(two tanks have already been built while I was back in Tanzania in May 2025 – please see the update for details). However, since rain in this region only falls during the main rainy season (and if they are lucky maybe also in the small rainy season) and not throughout the entire year, and since the climate change also doesn’t spare Africa,<strong> a well would be the most sustainable and preferred long-term solution.</strong>
