Hilary battling cancer & the loss of her husband

Friday, December 9, 2022 was supposed to be a happy day. After months of battling Leukemia, Hilary finally received a stem cell transplant to help catapult her into a beautiful cancer-free life. Friday, December 9th was a happy day bursting with hope for a future filled with travel, adventures and hopefully growing a family with her husband, Logan. Friday was a happy day until the most tragic and unimaginable event occurred…On Saturday morning, Hilary received the news that Logan was killed when an SUV ran a red light and struck him while he was riding his bike through the crosswalk. The driver fled the scene, and the criminal investigation is ongoing.

Hilary and Logan were married earlier this year on January 2, 2022. In August, Hilary received a very sudden and unexpected diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). She spent the following 35 days in the hospital undergoing chemo and recovery, leaving her in remission. AML however always requires a second-line treatment as her current stem cells are now “pre-disposed” to being naughty and creating mutated cancer cells. In early December, Hilary checked back into the hospital for her second round of chemo and radiation and, ultimately, her stem cell transplant on December 9th.

Hilary has a long road to recovery ahead, including her having to stay in the hospital through New Years as her body builds immunity and several months of monitored recovery and limited activity. Logan was her #1 support through all of this, and his sudden and tragic death leaves a massive emotional and financial hole I’m hoping we can help fill for her. So how can you help?

1) Financial donations of any size are so greatly appreciated.

2) As much as Hilary loves flowers, the doctors will not allow her to have them right now as she needs to remain in an extremely protected environment to build her immunity.

3) If you want to reach out, messages of love and support are always appreciated.

If you know Hilary, you know how strong, positive and resilient she is. That being said, she is going through some of the most unimaginable battles right now and can use our support. Thank you so much for taking the time to help our beautiful friend.
