Hiking for Change #MeToo

I am embarking on a journey to raise awareness about violence towards all women*, and stand up for those who are still suffering.

*women, gender non-conforming people and femmes.

I will be hiking 4,279 kms by myself from the border of Mexico to the border of Canada in honour of all women who have fallen victims to abuse and harassment of any kind. There are many amongst us who have been hurt and so I walk for those who are not ready to talk, not yet strong enough to stand up for themselves, and to bring attention to the gravity of this issue.

This wilderness trek will start in April '18 and takes me around 6 months to complete. My intentions are to make a powerful statement about being an empowered woman, inspire others to find there strength, and raise funds to donate towards several organisations which are dedicated to stopping violence towards women all over the world.

I will walk 4,279km and I will raise as much as possible :) Every kilometre on my journey is money that goes towards this cause.

Change that comes with education.                         Change that comes with respect.
Change that comes with good men standing up.
Change that comes so women can feel safe.

I’m hiking for a world that respects women, in which every woman can live in safety, free from all forms of abuse.

It is necessary to highlight the positive role that men can play to stop violence against women so I also dedicate this campaign to education so everyone can be part of this social change.

All donated money will go to several different organisations, all focusing to prevent abuse of all kinds towards women and children.

Our Watch -  Prevent Violance  against women and there children.  Australia has a choice. We can change the story that currently sees a woman murdered every week by a current or former partner. We can choose a future where women and their children live free from violence. Put simply, violence against women and their children is preventable.
