Higinio Rocha

This fundraiser was created on behalf of friends to help Laura and Eric's family in this challenging time. Unfortunately, Laura lost her father to Cancer.

 

Higinio Rocha was a Father and Grandfather diagnosed with stage 4 Gastric Cancer in mid-April 2022. He was in and out of Hospitals due to advancement and complications. Unable to eat or drink, he was fed with total parental nutrition. In April of 2022, he underwent surgery to remove the cancerous tumor when it was discovered the tumors had spread.

 

Since his diagnosis, he only received two chemo treatments due to his health insurance coverage. Unfortunately, while pressuring his insurance and waiting for his appointments to be approved, there was much delay, and his cancer continued advancing. He needed complete care 24/7, and Higinio's son had to take time off of work to help care for him.

 

On Monday, June 20th, Higinio was dehydrated and unable to get out of bed. 911 was called and was rushed to the hospital. While on his way to the hospital, he lost consciousness and stopped breathing. The paramedics attempted to resuscitate but were unable to bring him back. It was confirmed at the hospital that Higinio had passed away.
