High Five for Kind Club!

Donation protected
Hey friends!

Are you a person who wants more kindness in the world?

Are you a person who wants to support, children, learning how to make a positive impact in their community?

Are you a person who loves supporting growing non-profits?

Are you a person who loves high fives?

If you have answered “YES” to any of these questions, you have made it to the right campaign!

Meet Kind Club- the weekly, co-ed, inclusive social/service club for school-aged children. A program designed to encourage children to: identify their community, investigate the needs of that community, analyze that data and create an individually crafted service project to help fill that specific community need!

We give children agency over creating kindness in their community!

We believe that children are capable of creating real change in their community.

We believe in fostering a growth mindset, leaning into mistakes as opportunities to grow and learn.

We believe in supporting all children to work together through all moments, difficult and easy.

We believe that feelings inspire thoughts, thoughts inspire beliefs, beliefs inspire actions, and actions can change everything.

We believe that you can help us!

We are a growing non-profit (501(c)(3) (pending) founded in Richmond, Va and we need some help expanding our reach to serve in more locations and allow our program to grow.

How you can help us out is by donating $5 (or more, we will not say no, we will thank you in the ways listed below) and sharing this campaign with 5 of your friends who really dig what we are doing as well. The goal is to spread the word and grow the cause to help support and fund our reach and support four full programs!

This campaign will run from March 1, 2018- April 1, 2018!

Goodbye and high-fives-

XO, Kind Club RVA

So why high-fives?

At the end of every Kind Club, we all share "Good-bye and high fives". This helps connect us all together. There are several studies that show a correlation of positive touch and the increase of connection together. We end each Kind Club with a stronger bond together. And now you're part of that bond as well.

Hand-holding or hugging also results in a decrease of the stress hormone cortisol, says Matt Hertenstein, an experimental psychologist at DePauw University in Indiana.

"Having this friendly touch, just somebody simply touching our arm and holding it, buffers the physiological consequences of this stressful response," Hertenstein says.

In addition to calming us down and reducing our stress response, a friendly touch also increases the release of the oxytocin — also called the "cuddle hormone" — which affects trust behaviors.

"Oxytocin is a neuropeptide, which basically promotes feelings of devotion, trust, and bonding," Hertenstein says.

Oxytocin levels go up with holding hands, hugging — and especially with therapeutic massage. The cuddle hormone makes us feel close to one another.

"It really lays the biological foundation and structure for connecting to other people," Hertenstein says.
