High Street Cleanup and Community Beautification

Tax deductible
The High Street Coalition, a group of passionate volunteers and neighbors in the Laurel, Allendale, and Maxwell Park (LAMP) neighborhoods of East Oakland is raising money to support bimonthly neighborhood cleanups, planters, mini-gardens, and to maintain our planting adoption at the 580 High Street exit to welcome people to the neighborhood.

Things to know:

1) We host clean-ups on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month, starting by Dick's Donuts at High Street @ Quigley Place. We've been going strong for five years now!
2) The Laurel District Association is our not-for-profit fiscal sponsor - so your donation is tax-deductible.
3) We officially "adopted" the 580E High Street exit through the CalTrans Adopt-a-Highway program, put in Cal. native plants and maintain them.
4) We also put in planters on Quigley Place and planted mini-gardens by Razzo's/Subway on the corner of MacArthur and High St.
4) Funds donated are used for mulch, soil, planters, plants, carts, and when we have enough, to contract a water truck.
5) We have an Instagram, website, and a group on Nextdoor. Please join, like, and help us spread the word!
6) We are getting encouragement and support from many sides: Keep Oakland Beautiful, District 4, District 6, Fire Station 17, neighborhood groups including the Laurel District Association, and neighbors offering up cuttings and plants.

Any donation will help make an impact! And we hope to see you on a garden workday or community clean-up soon.
