Fort Collins High School Orchestra Dream Realized
"I came into high school in the lowest orchestra, Sinfonetta. I went to the first concert, and heard Symphony Orchestra and Tower for the first time, and I was amazed. I found it dumbfounding that people my age could create a sound like that. Since that moment in late October of 2021, I've worked nonstop to become a better musician, and I reached both those ensembles. Now I'm here, and I can't believe it. I know that much like me, everyone in orchestra is attempting to be the best musicians they can be, that's what Fort Collins is about, where excellence is expected. So I feel like MFA is the next stepping stone, not just to get my name out there on the national level, but for an ensemble.

Hello! We are parents fund raising for our kids to have a dream fulfilled. It costs a lot of money to have kids in music but when it's their talent and dream you try your best, as a parent, to make it happen.
We are the Fort Collins High School Symphony Orchestra, honored recipients of the invitational MusIc for All National Festival. We are one of seven high school orchestras in the nation chosen to attend this performance program and we need your financial assistance to help us get there. The orchestra auditioned in 2019, but sadly they could not perform in 2020 because of Covid. This orchestra is honored to be chosen again and to be able to perform in 2024. Your contribution will make it a reality!
These funds will enable our entire orchestra to learn in the clinics of the greatest music teachers in the nation and to perform at this national festival in a world class performance venue; the Palladium in Indianapolis, Indiana, in March, 2024. The cost for this event is $1879 for each of our 50 students. We have a range of family incomes and we aim to make it possible for every player. We work tirelessly to achieve the goals set before us.
Fort Collins High School is a Colorado public high school with a dynamic and award winning orchestral program. We are recognized in our state as one of the top performing ensembles, often a regional leader. We are consistently ranked superior by the regional and state American String Teachers Association. In 2016, 2018, and 2022 we received the highest honor from the Colorado Music Educators Association. We support: music for all students who desire to learn an instrument, excellence in performance, and orchestra as family; building community so each student achieves their highest good. Each year we perform a Holiday Gift concert to raise money for a community member in need.
