Higgy Bears needs our help!
If you have a kid with scoliosis, chances are you already know a very popular business among scoli kids: Higgy Bears. Lauren, the founder of Higgy Bears, created Higgy Bears to help kids cope through the tough years of bracing, surgeries, and chronic pain. Higgy Bears are stuffed animals custom designed for kids with scoliosis. Kids can choose their stuffed animal, send Lauren a picture of their brace, and Lauren works her magic. Lauren is constantly getting tagged in pictures of her stuffed animals with scoli kids at doctor visits, surgeries, or tenderly tucked in bed with a new happy owner.
Lauren has a way of making every single child feel valued, heard, seen and loved. She includes hand-written notes, has been the guest speaker for Curvy Girls support groups, and sends free and discounted stuffed animals to kids and non-profits/hospitals on a regular basis. It is not just the business we love, it is the HEART behind the business that I believe has made it so successful. We all love Lauren so much and she has become a personal friend of my daughter and I because of her huge heart and genuine care/concern for my daughter.
SHE NEEDS OUR HELP. Early in July, Lauren's basement flooded and it was a total loss. She lost 2,000+ stuffed animals and accessories, and of course all the income those animals would have generated. Sadly, insurance has denied her claim/appeal. The estimated loss is approximately $25k. Let's do whatever we can to help her whittle down that amount and support HER for once! She is extremely grateful for her scoli community and she's done so much for our kids, let's pay it forward/give back in her time of need!
