HIFU treatment for prostate cancer

A few years ago our family sold everything and moved to Colorado to begin a new chapter in our lives. Just as we were finalizing our move my husband was diagnosed with Prostate cancer. The opinion of many doctors was that his condition would be best treated through a process called High Intensity Focus Ultrasound. It gave Tim the best prognosis and had the least side effects. We have felt very hopeful about this treatment. Sadly insurance won’t cover it, even though it has been practiced for 25 years in Europe. It has has only been in the US for over 5 years. The total cost is $25,000.00. We have tried saving and tried getting a loan, but in the meantime I had skin cancer return on my face where I had, had previous surgery and because of that a second surgery was required taking the money we had saved. Our insurance will expire in September, and our hope it to get the treatment before then so that if there are any complications those will be covered. That means our time to save is short based on both the lapse in insurance and the growth of the cancer. Any help towards our goal of $25,000 will get us closet to getting Tim's treatment in time.
