UPDATE: THIS GOFUNDME IS NOW CLOSED. Thank you all dear friends who helped reach the financial goal to help our beloved Nohemy and Rogelio:      On Monday, July 9 at 2:12 am, 2 fires were intentionally set by an arsonist at the Hideaway Cafe Mexican Grill, 11000 Osborne Street in Sylmar, CA. This is the location of the beloved Hideaway Cafe Taco Truck and Tree Nursery, owned by Rogelio and Nohemy, two wonderful community members and residents. At first we thought Rogelio's car was set on fire, but it turned out to be Miguel, one his workers who actually lost TWO vehicles in the parking lot, and the second fire was ignited at the edge of the property, where the goat barn was (The FD thinks the arsonist was trying to seal off the wash and trap all the residents) The fire spread throughout one of the tree nurseries, and devoured about a 1/4 acre.  With heartbreak we learned that the goats including the babies perished in the fire, and Rogelio lost a tremendous amount of his trees that he sells to support his family. The actual taco truck was untouched and is thankfully still in business, and the barn next to the bathroom survived.

200 firemen battled the blaze, along with a helicopter and they got it out within an hour.

The arsonist returned a few days later and was spotted in the parking lot, disappeared in the wash and started yet another fire at Middle Ranch which was quickly doused. This person, described as a blonde with a long black "surgeon's coat" has been seen at multiple vehicle fires recently in the community and gender is not known.

Rogelio hired a crew immediately when Monday's fire was put out and they have been working all week to clear the property of the fire debris. The crew was paid for out of Rogelio's pocket.

This GoFundMe has been created to reach  inside and beyond our community to help gather funds for Rogelio, and to help rebuild the structures that they lost.

I will personally hand them the money Saturday Night, July 28 at the "Taco Truck Fire Recovery Party" which you all are invited to,  with a nice card that will include everyone's name who donated and your well wishing. The party starts at 7-9pm and hopefully will have music. Come and buy Nohemy's great food, hang out with friends, and meet everyone. Rogelio and Nohemy feel blessed to have such good friends, and want you all to come and have fun. 11000 Osborne Street, Sylmar across from Monte Verde Riding Club. (The taco truck will be in back) Thank you for your donations and see you Saturday Night! ~Linda Dalziel
