Hickory Winds Tee Pad Fundraiser

This fundraiser is to help pay for the construction of concrete tee pads and addition of proper signage at Hickory Winds Disc Golf Course in Carbondale, IL. 100% of the funds generated here will be used for the construction of concrete tee pads and signs for both pro and am tee positions. Any additional remaining funds will be used to purchase additional benches and trash cans and be invested in the construction of more equipment friendly bridges.
Hickory Winds Disc Golf Course is a Champion style Disc Golf Course located in Carbondale, Illinois. It is maintained by the Carbondale Park District and local volunteers. I am one of those passionate volunteers and players. Over the years our beloved course has come a long way thanks to the work of the Park District and some helpful local players. What was once a brutal goat track through the woods has become a truly beautiful and challenging round of disc golf. Unfortunately what separates Hick as the local yokels call it, from a true champion caliber course is proper concrete tee pads and professionally designed signage. I firmly believe the course is finally in a condition to legitimately warrant those additions as well. This project has actually been in discussion with the park district for several years as a matching funds and labor project. Unfortunately as budgets for parks are cut and reallocated for other needs this has continually fallen by the wayside. I’ve decided to take this project on independently with the blessing of the park district. As such I have created this event to help with those costs. I believe the total expense for everything on the aforementioned wishlist to total around $14,000. I have pledged $4,000 personally which was the foundation for the orginal match arrangement with the PD.
