Shatter the Silence, Stop the Violence
Tax deductible
November is the month dedicated to exposing the truth behind gender-related violence. In Ontario it marks Woman Abuse Prevention Month. Unfortunately, the annual gathering of hundreds of allies, advocates and survivors in Windsor's Charles Clark Square is prohibited due to COVID-19.
'Shine the Light' is the annual campaign operated by Hiatus House, a local shelter for battered women and children seeking asylum. This is an emotional gathering to raise awareness, voice stories, advocate for victims and educate our community. The event is on a pause and yet now, more than ever, there is a concern not just about violence, but how people in violent situations are seeking help during this global pandemic.
Please participate in the effort to end gender-based violence this month with a donation to Hiatus House, sharing this link, wearing purple, educating yourself with podcasts/books/articles and supporting our women.
