Welcome to the Hope for the Children 2013-2014 College Scholarship Campaign!

About the Campaign:
Our organization strives to provide better opportunities for orphans. Through the faithful support of sponsors and volunteers for over 10 years, we have improved the living conditions and given hope to children to grow into responsible, self-reliant adults.
Education is a vital component to our mission and one we feel we can provide. Giving a child a higher education is proven to disrupt the cycle of poverty which allows them access to more career opportunities in adulthood.
Unlike the United States, college is much more affordable in countries like India. To obtain a Bachelor's Degree in India requires 3 years of education at a cost of only $400 per year. This includes admission fees, tuition, and books!

We currently have 7 students graduating in May 2014. Our campaign goal of $2,800 would cover cost of this opportunity for the first year. We are pleased to inform you that a private donator has agreed to match all donations dollar for dollar up to our goal! Each dollar you donate is now worth $2!
Periodically within the coming months, we will highlight several of our future May 2014 graduates. We hope you would connect with the children on a personal level and help them grow into self-sufficient adults.

Meet Hem Min Thang:
Thang has been living at one of our orphanages since 2003 and will be finishing high school this year. He is a good student and hopes to become a doctor. He enjoys computers and playing cricket.
January's Graduate Highlight:
Meet Martha K.:
Martha is 18 years old and has been staying at one of our orphanages since 2004. She is getting ready to finish 12th grade this year and hopes to continue her studies in the science field. Her goal is to get into medical school and become a doctor. As in any country, getting into medical school is extremely competitive-- especially in the highly populated India. Please join us in prayer that her dreams come true and that God will provide the resources to continue her education. Martha's hobbies include designing clothes and playing volleyball.

ABOUT HFC:
Hope for the Children (HFC) was established in 2003 by a group of compassionate volunteers who heard about the needs of children in India. We started working with one orphanage in Northeast India whose founder Dr. Lamboi Vaiphei, was attempting to care for 15 children who lost their parents in a local ethnic war.
Through partnering with HFC, these children were able to attend school and have all their needs provided. The orphanage now has its own building with 70 children receiving sponsorship on a yearly basis. Today HFC supports orphanages in India, Nepal and Bolivia.
