Diablos Journey to Nationals

The journey of young men could be defined through many ways. The adventure of our Diablos' team is a dream come true for these young men. It was a tumultuous ride. It was a quest for perfection. Football perfection... Day in and day out these young men grew to understand what commitment was, what it meant to play as a team and let go of the "all me" mentality. They grew to pick each other up, regardless of who was the play maker or who was responsible for losing the game. They became a unit of ONE. Perfection of football in ones' eyes is usually having achieved the undefeated season. Perfection became defined by something else. Losing two games, taught our boys perseverance and learning that we all have room for improvement. The loss created fire in their blood and strength in their character. They were ready to battle on the field.

The journey continued with completely different boys on the field. The had changed. More focused and ready to pull the missing pieces together. They played with intensity but still with a smooth tone. A spike of the ball was never seen, a hand was always given to an opponent on his back. They were different than any other team they faced.

They faced each opponent with much thought and care. They never underestimated them.

The journeys end became closer to reality. The Diablos went into playoffs as the #8 seed. What a disappointment at the immediate thought but what a power reinforcement it would become.

Game one of playoffs we faced the #1 seed. We beat them in a battle down to last minutes of the game.

Game two we face a fiery opponent. (#5) Once again, our boys' tenacity prevailed and our journey was almost a reality.

We were headed to the PHXAYF Championships at ASU!

Our Championship game was brought together with the culmination of our coaches’ adversity, parents commitment and our boys mental preparedness.

With the biggest game before them, the boys prepared themselves with a different pre-game plan. They sat quietly, still, in deep thought ready to play. Certainly unusual for 10 and 11 year old boys.

The game would begin with much excitement and the fiery tone would be set by our exceptionally loud and amazing fans in the stands. The Diablos' came out pounding and never looked back! The journey had ended with a powerful performance. A 28-0 victory would seal the Diablos' season and would allow the Journey to continue.......

NOW WE'RE OFF TO FLORIDA AND WE CAN'T DO IT WITHOUT YOU! YOUR SUPPORT IS OUR LIFELINE TO MAKE THIS JOURNEY A REALITY FOR THESE YOUNG MEN. THEY ARE DESERVING AND READY FOR THE NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT.

FROM OUR DIABLOS' FAMILY TO YOURS... WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT.
