Hezekiah is 8 months old and is the son of John and Stephanie Frederic. Hezekiah has a very complex medical history involving his airway and GI tract. His list of diagnoses is long, but his main issues have been dysphasia, subglottic stenosis, larynogomalcia, sleep apnea, and macroglossia. He has had some corrective surgeries, but is still feeding tube dependent due to severe dysphasia and slow motility. Those are complicated medical terms that mean Hekekiah is a infant who cannot eat or breathe properly-- both vital to this sweet spirited baby. Despite many tests and procedures, his doctors and therapists are still unsure what is causing his current issues. His case has been accepted by Children’s Hospital in Boston where he will see an aerodigestive team. The doctors will then come up with a plan to better manage his care with his local doctors. It is far away, but Boston offers help not available here. He has spent his entire life in and out of the hospital. It is time to find answers for his conditions. He also has four older siblings at home who are his biggest fans. They want to see their brother well and everyone under one roof. Stephanie is now unable to work so that she can care for Hezekiah full time. This has created a financial strain on the family. They are now relying on one income for their family of seven and this has become increasingly difficult with a medically complex child. They need our help to make his trip to Boston possible. John and Stephanie are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support as they seek to find help for their little one.
