Hey all you cool cats & kittens

So, my aunt's neighbor has the sweetest cat you've ever met, his name is Ozzy. He got into some kind of altercation with a neighborhood animal a few weeks ago and his eye got scratched. It ended up getting badly infected and the owners would not take him to the vet. My aunt got some antibiotics and we started giving them to him, hoping it would help but then his other eye got infected too. When I went to get him today and give him his medicine, he walked out from under that house with a ruptured eye and all kinds of blood and well...eyeball goo (for lack of a better word) running down his little face. He still meowed when he heard my voice and let my blubbering mess of a self pick him up.
I am not going to post those photos because they are far too graphic.
We ended up rushing him to the vet where they told us they would not be able to save either eye. He's in surgery as I type this having both removed, the bill is over a thousand dollars & we unfortunately just don't have much disposable income but we couldn't bear to see him suffer that way. Ozzy deserves so much better and although he has unnecessarily lost his sight, today is the start of his new life where is is safe, taken care of, and loved. He will be up for adoption after he heals from surgery. He's really the best little cat. While they were taking blood, poking him, and even messing with his extremely painful eyes he was back there purring! He's not even a year old and has had to endure so much already.

Help us help him, he is more than deserving of a chance.
