Giving Back - Ramadan Campaign

My name is Mohamed Bachani and I am raising funds for Mother - The Orphan Heritage Foundation (TOHF).

The funds raised this Ramadan will primarily support projects in four countries; namely Palestine, Liberia, Kenya and Malawi. The money you kindly donate will also help sustain the work currently happening in Africa and the Middle East.

Palestine

Mother – TOHF is collaborating with Muslim Hands in order to provide critical and lifesaving aid to the people of Palestine.

Due to the blockade imposed on Gaza since October 7, supplies of fuel are almost exhausted. There are also shortages of food, water, and medicines, as the number of aid trucks crossing into Gaza each day is less than one fifth of what the UN says is needed. Prior to this escalation in conflict, 68 percent of Palestinians lived below the poverty line and had come to rely on humanitarian aid. With your support, we can ensure that displaced families get more of the food, water and medicines they so desperately need.

Liberia

Liberia is a country on the West African coast. Due to two intense civil wars between 1989-2003, the country has been left totally and absolutely devastated. To this day, the scars of the conflict can be seen everywhere. 92% of the people live below the poverty line. It is estimated that there are over 300,000 orphans in Liberia. Food poverty and illiteracy are major challenges for all orphans, particularly those that live in rural areas.

Vision for Liberia (VfL) is an NGO based in Liberia. Mother – TOHF will be partnering with VfL to provide support to orphanages by way of food and aid as well as educational provisions.

Kenya

Mother – TOHF is embarking upon an exciting project with Baraka Trust in Gongoni, Kenya. Madrasat al-Ikhlas is an educational institute that specialises in teaching the Islamic sciences. Most students come from deprived backgrounds and there is also a high cohort of orphaned students that attend. Currently the institute is undergoing major extension work as well as renovations of the existing building.

Malawi

Malawi is one of the world's least-developed countries and has low life expectancy. Nearly one-fifth (18 percent) of children aged 0-14 years of age are orphans, which is the highest orphan rate in the Sub-Saharan Africa region. HIV/AIDS is a highly prevalent disease in Malawi and evidence suggests that it contributes to significantly to orphaned children.

Mother – TOHF will be collaborating with Mama Amina Foundation, an NGO that is highly active in serving orphans. The funds raised will support an orphanage with food and vital medical aid.
