Dear Friends and Family of Raymond and Tamari-
Many of you know that Raymond Jenkins recently went through a life-changing and life-saving heart transplant.
Raymond and I have been friends since we were students in high school. Ray has always been part of my circle of friends and when I started dating Andy, Ray and Andy formed a bond that became as strong as the one I already had with Ray. When Ray began to date Tamari, we were as enamored with her as he was, and to this day, we have a lasting relationship with the Jenkins that is incomparable.
Ray began to have medical issues in 2007 and for the last 10 years, Tamari has been the sole provider and caretaker for Ray as well as their two young children. Ray’s Medical Team had exhausted all other treatment options for Ray, which led to the need for a heart transplant. Tamari would be the first to tell you how incredibly blessed they have been and that the support that encircles them has helped her through many situations. However, I know that Tamari struggles financially and every day that Ray has spent in the hospital, means a day that she has to drive to and from her home to visit him, a distance of over 65 miles in Los Angeles traffic as well as leaving her children in the hands of a caregiver. There are many other budgetary losses stemming from Medical and Non-Medical expenses that have been in the Jenkins household since 2007 and I won’t go through all of them here.
I am writing to ask any who can help alleviate these burdens to contribute to this Fundraising effort for the Jenkins family. Many of us are also going through financial hardships, but if you can contribute in any way, big or small, please join us in achieving our goal of raising $5,000 for the Jenkins family.
