Lieve allemaal, 
 
Een tijdje geleden deelden wij onze droom voor Het PDA Huis. 
 
Een fysieke plek speciaal voor kinderen, jongeren, volwassenen en gezinnen die te maken hebben met PDA, Pathological Demand Avoidance, een profiel dat kan voorkomen binnen autisme. 
 
Een plek waar de wereld minder hard binnenkomt. Waar rust, veiligheid, begrip en autonomie centraal staan. Waar gezinnen ademruimte krijgen en waar kinderen, jongeren én volwassenen zichzelf mogen zijn, zonder steeds te hoeven voldoen aan verwachtingen die hun zenuwstelsel overspoelen. 
 
Die droom staat nog steeds als een huis. 

Alleen het eerste concrete pand waar wij naar keken, bleek financieel niet haalbaar. Het pand stond te koop voor 1,4 miljoen euro en met bijkomende kosten kwamen we uit op ongeveer 1,5 miljoen euro. Dat was, hoe graag we ook wilden, op dit moment gewoon niet realistisch. 
 
Maar dat betekent niet dat we stoppen. 

Sterker nog, Stichting Het PDA Huis is inmiddels een feit. En wij blijven zoeken, denken, omdenken, bouwen en plannen maken. Rustig, zorgvuldig en met beide voeten op de grond. We onderzoeken andere mogelijkheden, zoals huur, samenwerking, tijdelijke locaties of een ander pand dat beter past bij wat nu haalbaar is. 
 
Alle donaties die tot nu toe zijn gedaan, zijn dus absoluut niet voor niets geweest. 
 
In het kader van transparantie willen we duidelijk zeggen dat donaties stichting breed worden ingezet. Dat betekent dat ze worden gebruikt voor alles wat helpt om de missie van Het PDA Huis verder te brengen en uiteindelijk een fysieke plek mogelijk te maken. Denk aan opbouw, voorbereiding, organisatie, kennisdeling, ontwikkeling van aanbod, praktische kosten en alles wat nodig is om deze plek stap voor stap dichterbij te brengen. 
 
Onze droom is niet kleiner geworden. 

Onze route is alleen veranderd. 

Wij blijven geloven dat er een plek nodig is waar PDA echt begrepen wordt. Niet als lastig gedrag, maar als een diepgaand patroon van stress, autonomie, overleving en veiligheid. Een plek waar ouders, partners, naasten en professionals niet steeds hoeven uitleggen waarom gewone oplossingen niet werken. Een plek waar kinderen, jongeren én volwassenen niet gerepareerd hoeven worden, maar ruimte krijgen. 
 
Dank aan iedereen die al heeft gedoneerd, meegedacht, gedeeld, gesteund of simpelweg heeft gezegd: “Dit is nodig.” 

Dat nemen we mee. Echt! 
 
We zoeken rustig verder naar huur of koop om een fysieke plek voor Het PDA Huis te verwezenlijken. En zodra er meer gedeeld kan worden over een mogelijke plek, delen we dat natuurlijk meteen.
