Calling all Angels!
As many of you know Mike Hession has been looking for a living liver donor for a few years now. The response of people that came forth to be considered was amazing. The matching process is very tedious and thorough. It is not just as simple as saying "I'll do it". And although, the hospital will not tell Mike when someone has come forward, the individual can.
The GREAT news is a living liver donor for Mike has been found!! According to my understanding it appears to be a perfect match. So many of you have been praying and even tried to be a donor. Thank you!!
The big day is December 4th, 2018.
Mike and Rachael have an amazing love story and they are blessed with 2 beautiful sons. Austin, is 21 months old and their second son, Aiden just arrived October 21st, 2018. Plus, 2 dogs! Their plate is quite full as they prepare for the upcoming surgery. Recovery time is 3 to 6 months and a year for full recovery. During the initial recovery Mike will be unable to help with the day to day family responsibilities. His energy needs to be on healing. This will leave Rachael to care for the family.
Many continue to ask how they can help. And now that things are in full motion we have answers for you with many ways to help Mike and Rachael durning this time.
We have been inspired by the person donating their liver. He/she have chosen to be anonymous. What a selfless act to give this gift of life to another person. Taking the lead from the donor we thought we would round up the "Hession Angels" that we know are out there. And tell you how you too can help being completely anonymous or not.
So "Hession Angels" here is how you can help!
Prayer, Non financial needs (helping hands), and Financial contributions.
A. Prayer: sometimes we think this is a casual request or comment but, it is not. God does answer prayer He is the great healer. PLEASE feel free to put this on prayer chains!!
1. First, Praise God for selecting the perfect donor for Mike.
2. Pray for good health prior to the surgery for Mike and the Donor.
3. Wisdom for the doctor and surgeons.
4. That the liver would be accepted by Mike's Body.
5. That Mike and the donor would have no complications and the recovery would be speedy and wonderful.
6. For Rachael, that she has the strength, faith, and peace to be their for their sons and for Mike.
7. For Mike's parents and family.
8. For Rachael's parents and family.
B. Helping hands:
1. Walking the dogs
2. Preparing and dropping off meals
3. Babysitting
4. Shoveling when it snows.

C. Financial: donating money is always difficult. For this reason we have set up a Go Fund Me Account. For the giver you don't know what to give and some cannot afford to give anything (and that's OK). For the receiver, Mike and Rachael, it is hard to accept financial help. This is a journey that is going to incur additional expenses along with the everyday expenses. I hope we can relieve some of financial stress due to loss of income to meet their bills and to assist in the additional expenses of this surgery. Together let's take this stress from their plate.
