Hello everyone, I'm afraid that I won't be able to communicate for a lo time, maybe Months. The situation is devastating. Right now I've managed to get signal for this. Know that I am safe. The whole situation here with the hurricane was devastating. It left the whole nation without communication. We lost a lot of antena towers and power cables. So the whole island won't have electricity for a long time, some say until January believe it or not. There is only one radio station working for the whole island, it's crazy, that's the only source of communication we have for now. News Channels are not working. Many have lost their homes, I'm blessed to say that I didn't. But I have family that did. There are many roads blocked by all the trees and power cables that fell among other things that fell. In my area all the neighbors are safe but there was a lot of destruction. We are currently blocked from passage and tomorrow the small neighborhood needs to start cleaning the road so we can make passage for our cars. We can't wait for the government to help because they can't, so we need to help ourselves with what we can. Civilians are uniting and cleaning the roads. This has been the worst devastating hurricane in history, it did so much damage that all of the hills are leafless, nothing is green anymore, it literally looks like a war zone. No place to buy, stores are destroyed. We don't have electricity or water in homes. The government is blocking passage in important areas, no way to get to places you want to see family, search for supplies if there are some, already you can't by car. One meal a day until we have supplies and if we don't run out, the situation is chaotic. We need help.

We are starting to receive some positive information in the radio regarding the restorations of water in hospitals and antenas to communicate. We have heard that the President of the United States has declared Puerto Rico a major disaster zone and the US will send a lot of personnel and military to help us. Right know it's a struggle day by day. Trying to render the little supplies we have, it's hard to know when we will be able to get more water and food. There is not gasoline and some is being reserved only for the government. We haven't been able to get gasoline for the power plants, it's the only source we have to keep our refrigerators cool for some time during the night and to keep our devices charged until service is restored. The government has announced to all civilians not to be in the streets after 6pm. We can leave our homes from 6am to 6pm, if seen in the streets after this time people will be arrested. It's an emergency strategy due to several reasons, but the only one that is in my head now is that rumors had spread that people were going to stores and stealing supplies and other things due to the desperation. Since stores were destroyed and unattended for example stores like Walmart, it allowed easy access inside. Right know all I can do is trust in God. I'm desperate, but I'm not the only one, my whole nation is. I've seen how dependent we are of modern facilities and technology, it's not even funny. It's not easy seeing the sites I've seen here. Everything destroyed, hard to get to places because everything is blocked.

Hola a todos, me temo que no podré comunicarme por un tiempo, tal vez por meses. La situación es devastadora. En este momento he conseguido obtener la señal para esto. Sepan que estoy a salvo. ハリケーンによるプエルトリコへの被害は甚大です。電気ケーブルや電波塔が崩壊し、国中全ての連絡手段が断ち切られています。島全体から電気すらも失われていて、もしかするとこの状態が来年まで続くかもしれません。

ラジオのニュースチャンネルもほぼ繋がらず、島で現在唯一動いている局のラジオに頼り、情報を得ています。

僕自身は幸い難を逃れましたが、多くの人が家を失いました。

倒れた木々や電線で道路はふさがり、隣町に行くのも困難です。車が通れるよう、明日から道路の瓦礫除去などを始めます。

国が瓦礫を除去するのにはまだまだかかりそうなので、待ってはいられません。できる限りの事を自分たちでやらなければなりません。
