At 4 days old our Harry went into cardiac arrest.
He was transferred to Crumlin Children’s Hospital where he was diagnosed with,
• Hypoplastic left heart syndrome
• Complete unbalanced AVSD
•Multiple Septal defects
• Hypoplastic Aortic arch & Coarctation & Hypoplastic left valve
He had the 1st of his palliative surgeries when he was 8 days old, which was the Norwood with Sano shunt.
He had the 2nd stage at 3 months old which was the Bidirectional Glenn shunt.
Harry had a seizure a few days after his Glenn, and an EEG and other tests showed he’d had two bleeds on the brain.
From this Harry was left with weakness down his left side, which was later diagnosed as mild Cerebral Palsy.
Now we are starting the journey again and heading towards his final third open heart palliative surgery - the Fontan.
After this there are no more planned surgeries, we will then have to sit and wait until he needs more minor surgeries or a heart transplant.
Please help us to support this incredible little boy who’s failing heart is filled with such a love of life.
He is so very mischievous, and cannot understand why he cannot keep up with the other children.
This next surgery will allow him some semblance of normal life. Providing him with the circulation his body needs to survive.
Each stage of his life and treatment is very expensive, much more money than his parents and family have.
His parents and family go without constantly ensuring that he has all that is needed to look after him and his condition.
However it is always an uphill struggle and now is the the time to ask for more help as he prepares for his next open heart surgery.
If if you feel it in your heart to even donate a small amount we would be very grateful.
This money will go towards the care of Harry and equipment before during and after surgery.
It will allow his Mum Dad and Sister to stay as connected as possible during this time not having a financial burden on thier shoulders.
Please help us to help his Mum, Dad and 8 year old sister to provide Harry with all that he needs.
