Hero Heather Legacy Fund

In the last week, our family, friends, and community suffered a tragic loss. Heather Ripley was a loyal and loving daughter, granddaughter, sister, fiancé, and friend. She was a very brilliant, highly educated young Social Worker who dedicated her life to her career helping others. Her love for animals was unwavering as she tirelessly advocated for homeless and abused animals. Even upon her passing, she continued to help people as an organ donor that numerous transplant recipients will benefit from.

She would want us to carry on her legacy by selflessly giving to the organizations she cared about. Her parents, Carl and Barbara Sauer, have made plans to use these donations to help the Saint Agnes Adult Intensive Care Unit (AICU) that provided compassionate, highly skilled care for Heather (and all of her loved ones) over the course of the last week. They would also like to contribute to a local animal shelter of their choosing and create a scholarship fund in her name at Rising Sun High School for students that exhibit the same passion for education and helping the community as she did.
