Rachel's Funeral and Awareness Fund

Donation protected

On Saturday, January 20th Rachel Hern,  who was only 16 years old, was in a tragic car accident which eventually cost her her life. She passed away quietly on Tuesday evening, surrounded by dozens of family members and friends.  She is survived by her mother and father, RaeAnn and Don, her brother Travis and sister, Caitlin. The pain of this loss has been far reaching and devastating to many while also bringing awareness to careless teen driving and wearing a seatbelt. For us and many others, it has been very difficult to understand why such an innocent, sweet and beautiful girl lost her life so young. In moments like these, it is hard to feel God, but His love could be demonstrated with your help. The family is in need of funds to honor Rachel's life. If you feel compelled to help it would be greatly appreciated. As always, your prayers are coveted.

The sorrowful of the faithful is not that of permanent loss but the tender sense of sadness that comes in saying goodbye for now to someone we love. May today's sorry give way to the peace and comfort of God's love (author unknown)

Psalm 23:4

Even though I walk
    through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
    for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.

In Remembrance of Rachel Kathryn Hern (2001-2018)

She is remembered with heavy yet happy hearts by all of those who knew her.  Rachel was full of life, love and laughter  Her mother speaks of her with a glimmer in her eye and a smile on her face, “She had a heart of gold.  She made sure to make others feel good and stuck up to all of the bullies in school!” She goes on to talk about her silly side and her ability to always make people smile and laugh.  Austyn, Rachel’s cousin and best friend since birth, remembers Rachel as the only person she could talk to at times – that she was always there for her and many others.  Austyn continues on to say that she was full of life and that they will “see each other again in a new land, a perfect land, where we can blast music from the hills once more.”
