Her Necessities x The Pad Project

Women, imagine what age you were when you got your first period. You were probably around the age of 9-10 (pre-adolescent). Now, imagine ending your educational career at that age. Men, imagine having a period!

Young women in Third World Countries, much like India, have little to no knowledge on what mensuration even is; let alone the feminine care needed to bare the involuntary physical act of mensuration. For some, mensuration means walking miles home in between classes to change the cloth used in place of what we would use a pad or tampon for. For most, sadly, the beginning of mensuration commences the end of their future.

Access to feminine care should not be the deciding factor on what a women's future will be. Thankfully, it does not end there. The Pad Project has developed a simple mechanism that makes disposable pads for women in Third World Countries, utilizing very little energy and materials indigenous to the area.

By donating, you are not just supplying feminine care for women. You are providing empowerment. Education. Liberation to women that are demoralized by a stigma that is placed in cultures where women are less than valued. By donating, you are supporting your sister, your aunt, your mother, your friend. You are standing with Her and making the statement that women should be afforded equal opportunity across the globe.

More information about The Pad Project: The Pad Project's mission is to create and cultivate local and global partnerships to end period stigma and to empower women worldwide. In raising $10,000, you will be providing a machine that women can use to cultivate the necessary feminine care to help support a successful future.
