Hurricane Dorian Relief - Hepburn Family

This GoFundMe is for a special member of the Collingwood community. Brent Cartwright is originally from the Bahamas and moved here 4 years ago with his wife and his younger children.  Brianna his eldest daughter, son-in-law and 6-week premature newborn who reside on the Island of Abaco were trapped there for 5 days and have lost everything. As part of his work family, we have set up this page to help his family rebuild their ENTIRE lives. (read below for more details on their heart-wrenching journey)


For hours on end, Frankie Hepburn used his body to shelter Brianna and baby Gunner in a closet as their home shattered around them. With nothing left to grab other than their passports and a diaper bag, they were able to make way to a house that was partially standing to connect with more family members as the eye passed over them. 

They have nothing left.  Their home and livelihood are destroyed.  The story like so many is harrowing and has reduced our team to tears again and again.


With much help, they have escaped the Island of Abaco in the Bahamas and will hopefully be arriving in Canada within the next few days. Awaiting their safe arrival is our very own team member Brent Cartwright and his wife Layna who are the parents/new grandparents to this lovely family.
