Henna Documentary Post Production

Donation protected

After working with henna for the past 15 years, I was compelled to marry it to my childhood dream of filmmaking. The idea was born to make my third trip to India-this time to document the people and culture of henna. All the way from the farms and factories that process the plant to the most advanced mehndi artists creating their bridal henna magic.

My friend and accomplice, Erika Ryn, joined me for the adventure, and what ensued was one of the most significant life journeys that I've made to date. Our project gave us the best of excuses to connect and share with the Indian people, to homestay, to chase our subjects down in the streets, and to build deep and lasting relationships. Through henna we were brought into the fold of the Indian heart....

We have completely self-funded the project thus far, and intended to do the same for post production. However, with the lockdown, we found ourselves high and dry without any work! We DO have the time to do the majority of the editing process ourselves, but we need assistance with the post production costs of color correcting, sound mastering, graphics and consultation from a professional. Equipment costs have also had to be factored in.

We are excited to bring this documentary to the international henna community as an educational and inspirational tool: and to the general public to share the colors of Indian life and the enchantment of this exquisite art form.

We have already launched into editing and urgently need the funds in order to progress! Donated funds will be used as follows:

50% Post Production Professional Services
15% Release Costs
35% Post Production Equipment

All donations will receive a free ticket to the initial private screening party!

Donations over $50 will receive digital access to the film as well as exclusive access to our Behind the Scenes Reel and
the Henna XXX Directors Cut.

Donations over $500 will receive a producer credit.

Thank you for making the first feature length henna documentary a reality!
