Dear Friends,
We are asking for help in raising funds for the treatment and rehabilitation of our son Henio Aniołek, born on February 5, 2017. The pregnancy went without any complications. Unfortunately, Henio was born in a very bad condition. Doctors only gave him slight chance of survival.
When Henio was six weeks old, doctors saved his life by doing a tracheostomy tube treatment. Tracheostomy gave him a second life. His breathing was finally stabilized.
After a two-month stay in hospitals, numerous congenital malformations were diagnosed: airway obstruction, hypoplasia of the mandible, narrowing of the subglottic area of the larynx, small receding tongue, gothic palate, auricular defect, overgrown almost entire auditory tubes in both ears and hypoplasia of the tympanic cavity.
For 8 months, the son was fed with a probe because the underdeveloped organs did not allow him to take food normally. After the first distraction of the mandible and painstaking rehabilitation, the son began to take food with a teaspoon. In the future he will have to undergo many operations, including multiple mandibular distraction at the clinic in Olsztyn, reconstruction of the ear pinna (including implantation of auditory implants), laryngeal reconstruction, intensive neurologopedic and speech therapy rehabilitation.
Some medical services and rehabilitations are not financed by NFZ and require 100% payment.
Our son will require 24-hour parental care in the coming years, which is associated with the necessity of resigning from work by her mother, Henia. Therefore, a family of four is maintained by the father.
