<div>I'm raising money for The Standard Steam Locomotive Company Ltd, where we are building the classic Class 6 'Clan' 72010 Hengist locomotive.

<div>We want to preserve the history and heritage of this lost class by re-creating it with 21st-century design and engineering techniques, to enable this iconic steam locomotive to realise its full potential by making it cleaner and greener for mainline and heritage railways throughout the country.

<div>We all like to see and hear a steam train racing through the countryside. It’s captivating for all generations, albeit for different reasons. A distant memory, a reminder of a past age or simply just an awesome thing to see.

<div>With our expert engineers, the new locomotive is being precision engineered in Sheffield, by CTL Seal, using state-of-the-art engineering techniques, so we can ensure the locomotive will retain all its original aesthetic beauty but take advantage of modern design to improve the overall performance and efficiency of the engine.

<div>It will be 'greener &amp; cleaner' thanks to more effective production of steam, it will be more powerful, which is essential for steam operation on today's modern railway network and much more efficient, with improved fuel consumption.

<div>The build is well underway, having raised nearly £750,000 to date and we need approximately another £4M to finish the project over the next 6 years. There is a full build plan in place, where funds are allocated to complete each section of the locomotive.
