Meet Ziggy! He's a dog dressed in a cat suit that would love nothing more than to play fetch and eat tuna for the rest of his days. He's the fluffiest cat I've ever seen and his favorite place to sit is on someones shoulders. Unfortunately, Ziggy has become a very sick cat.
I rescued Ziggy from an abandoned litter as soon as I moved into my first apartment ever. He's the sweetest cat and 100% part of the family. 2 years ago it was revealed that Ziggy has feline asthma and after many traumatic asthma attacks and vet visits, the solution of a 6 week steroid shot is the best we can do to manage it.
This week, Ziggy developed bladder stones. For two days I've been running around the city with a cat carrier on one shoulder up and down the subways, vet to vet. He was unblocked once and hospitalized over night but unfortunately immediately upon returning home, Ziggy's urinary tract reblocked forcing a return to the vet and addition of another few thousand dollars. In the end, the vet bills have racked up and I have not only depleted my savings but have now also maxed out two credit cards on vet bills and he now requires two different surgerys.
Bladder stones in male cats can be fatal if they go untreated. This has left me in the worst possible scenario of having make a very important decision based off of available funds.
The bills have reached $4,000 and climbing. Anything will help and you will also have Ziggy and my undying gratitude. Thank you so much for reading and I can't wait for my little baby to be fetching paper balls and climbing on my shoulders.
