My awesome brother Wes (affectionately known as "WesMan") was in a catastrophic motorcycle accident on July 1st near Winston Salem, NC.
He has suffered a traumatic brain injury, and we are not yet sure of the true seriousness of it yet, as he is has been sedated and largely unconscious since the accident in an intensive care unit. He needs breathing assistance, and we anticipate a surgery in the next couple days to improve it. We are in a "wait and see" situation in many, many ways.
In addition to the head injury, he has a orbital fracture and a foot injury that has required 2 surgeries so far, and possibly more. Wes is in a tremendous amount of pain between his injuries and the road rash.
As many of you know, Wes has been working as a CNC machinist with our Dad. There is no disability coverage through his employer while he recovers. He may be off for a few weeks or a few months - we aren't sure exactly but we know this will be a long road to recovery.
While we do not know yet exactly how large his health bills will be, or how long he will be off of work, we do know that there will be an IMMENSE finacial impact between these two items alone. Any donation you can give to WesMan, no matter how small, is very appreciated by our family.
